The product series is operational since 2001:
- version OSI-207 (GOES-8 to GOES-13) from 2001 to 14/12/2017
- version OSI-207-a (GOES-16) from 14/12/2017 to 19/01/2021 (temporary product, processed with a temporary chain previously processing OSI-207)
- version OSI-207-b (GOES-16) from 19/01/2021 onwards
GOES-16 (GOES-R) is the first GOES new generation. This new GOES-East platform enables daytime SST calculations (whereas, previously, GOES-East SST was restricted to night_time conditions).
The content within square brackets "[…]" is to be replaced with whatever distributor, period, domain or download date is relevant to the data being used. The "extracted period" and "extracted domains" are only needed if a subset of the data is being used.
Suggestions for "distributor/distribution mean": OSI SAF FTP server/the EUMETSAT Data Centre/EUMETCast/name and URL of a redistributor...
Product based on the GOES-East data received in the OSI SAF production centre (Météo-France Lannion) directly from the satellite.
This product format is compliant with the Data Specification (GDS) version 2 from the Group for High Resolution Sea Surface Temperature (GHRSST).
