The OSI SAF concentrates its efforts towards users in terms of support, training and outreach.

A visiting scientist program allows scientists from institutions that are not SAF members to participate in the activities of the SAF. See the visiting scientist program page.
Two services are offered:
- service messages are sent to subscribers each time the production evolves or problems occur.
- a helpdesk is available to ask questions or to provide feedback to the OSI SAF team.
