Start of EUMETCast dissemination of OSI SAF HY-2D wind products

The dissemination of OSI SAF HY-2D 25 km and 50 km wind products with pre-operational status (OSI-116-a, OSI-116-b) on EUMETCast will start on 9 November. The HY-2D satellite was launched by the Chinese National Satellite Ocean Application Service (NSOAS) and carries an HSCAT scatterometer. NSOAS kindly provides the near-real time input data for the OSI SAF wind products. The data will be made available on EUMETCast in BUFR format.

OSI-116-b (50 km): W_NL-KNMI-DeBilt,SURFACE+SATELLITE,HY-2D+HSCAT_C_EHDB_20231004225238_11895_o_500_ovw_l2.bin

The products are already available now on the KNMI FTP server in BUFR and NetCDF format, in directory /scat/hy2d (BUFR) /scat/netcdf/hy2d (NetCDF) If you don't have access to the KNMI FTP server then please contact scat@knmi.nl for credentials.
