Only a few days left to update your configuration for Ifremer FTP server

Dear OSI SAF users,

The access to the Low and Mid Latitudes (LML) Sea Surface Temperature (SST) and radiative fluxes products evolves.
The products made by Météo-France are still distributed by Ifremer, but the FTP server names and directories change and you need to use the username "anonymous". There is no longer any need for credentials HTTPS access. We recommand you to update your configuration as soon as possible, and not later than 19 February.

The data are available through different means:

  • Main FTP server: offers the full product archive. From now on available at: ftp.ifremer.fr (username anonymous), directory: ifremer/cersat/projects/osisaf/
  • Back-up FTP server, a rolling archive with one week of data intended for operational users, to be used when the main FTP server is temporarily unavailable. From now on available at: ftp3.ifremer.fr (username anonymous), directory: ifremer/cersat/projects/osisaf/
  • HTTPS (same content as the main FTP server). From now on available without credentials at: https://osi-saf.ifremer.fr/

Please move to the new FTP server names. The old ones (eftp1.ifremer.fr, eftp2.ifremer.fr) will work only until the 19 February 2024.
For the HTTPS access, https://osi-saf.ifremer.fr/, the change is seamless, same URL as before, it works with and without credentials.

Please note that OSI SAF high latitudes Sea Surface Temperature (SST) and radiative fluxes products are available on the OSI SAF HL FTP server: ftp://osisaf.met.no/prod/

We recommend users to subscribe to OSI SAF service messages (specific to the products used) to be aware of any production anomaly and of products upgrades. See http://osi-saf.eumetsat.int. You need to be registered to subscribe to  service messages.

All intellectual property rights of the OSI SAF products belong to EUMETSAT. The use of these products is granted to every interested user, free of charge.
